Almost settled

Today is Thursday. Anthony has had some great first days at school and enjoys playing out in the yard when he gets home with our Landlords’ son Evan (4yrs) and girls from two doors down (sisters in 2nd and 4th grade) who take the bus to school with him. We let him play until almost dark (about 8pm) because there might not be much time later. Another reason he can do it is because school doesn’t start here until 9am. He doesn’t get out until 3:30 and doesn’t get off the bus until almost 4-seems late but I’m guessing we’ll get use to it. He seems to be adjusting well and has already been invited to a birthday party Saturday for one of his classmates.
I probably have one more day of hanging up clothes and unpacking boxes and we’ll be close to settled. I have a testing appointment with the job placement agency for next Thursday and Steve starts his new IT job tomorrow. He is very excited! We’ve been invited to a bar-b-q and bonfire tomorrow night by the Russell’s (the couple that hosted Steve while he was first here). Our friend Daniel Baker will be there and the Russell’s family and some church people; some from Jubilee and some from First Assembly.
I’ve taken some pictures (click here for pictures) of our new place (except for my room which has been the last to clean and organize). The leaves are falling fast and it feels like Thanksgiving time already; crisp cool days with the sun still shining most of the time. I am amazed at how quick the clouds can move in though.
Thanks for checking in on us and thanks for reading our blog. We love all the comments and we love and miss you all.

PS: There’s a video of Anthony in his room too.

Denise, you are much better at this than Steve. Thanks for the updates. I’m hoping to come visit you guys soon. Tell 1B that I said you are way too good for him. Even so, he is still an inspiration for me. WW1BD?
Denise, thanks for the updates. It’s really neat to hear from you all that is going on. LOVE the house pictures. It seems SO BIG in the pictures. I bet it seems big to you too right now.
Can’t wait to hear about your new job and what Steve thinks of his also. Is Anthony liking it so far? Is he missing his friends or excited to be making new ones?
Please keep on updating.
Love you,
Kris
Great pictures/video. Can’t wait to see you guys!!!
Great update, Denise! Thanks for the pictures – looks like you are making really good headway getting settled in. The video of Anthony was so cute – he did really good talking to the camera! Loved getting to see the yard, etc. Maybe you can take a pix of Anthony and his playmates
We do love being able to keep in touch this way. We miss you but are so happy for you. I know that Steve is excited about starting his new job. We are excited to see what God has for you, too. Sounds like you’ve got a fun barbecue in store with more nice people to meet. Never a dull moment, huh!
Much love – Mom and Dad
Chris-love your comments. I read the first one out loud to Steve. I am so glad you are planning to visit. It will be so great to see you again. I have to tell the truth, all I do is write and take the pictures; Steve is still the brains in this opperation. I don’t even know how to post the dumb thing. Good thing I married an IT guy.
Hope to see you soon, Denise
Hi Kris,
Yes, it does seem very spacious; everything is really open and great lighting too. I love the windows and it is so cozy with the heat radiading through the floors. It’s not a dry heat like a wood stove either. I’m glad you like reading the updates. I like sharing. You should start a blog too so I can see and hear all about you guys. It’s been really exciting all the changes and new things but we really miss all of you.
Anthony really seems to be adjusting well. He has mentioned a few of his friends but hasn’t had any real trouble with it yet; I expect we may have some days ahead.
Give my love to Sammy and Steve. Love and miss you. -Denise
Hi Mom,
I will get a picture of the kids playing outside next time. It’s funny how they run around outside near the runway and when a plane takes off they back up behind the cones and watch as they fly by. We love and miss you all.
Glad to here that Anthony was enjoying his first days at school. He really is a good boy. Your place is really nice. Boy it something to look out your windows and see planes come and go. I bet Steve is wishing some day he will have one. Are you looking forward to having a job? How was your party Thursday night? New friends what are they like? How long have they been there? Are you going to have your old e-mail address? If so when? Also need your adderss. LOVE YOU
Hi Dad,
Yes, Anthony hasn’t stopped playing hard since he got here. There were probably a half a dozen boys his age at the Bar-B-Q the other night. There were several couples there and most with kids; one family has six kids of there own. We had a wonderful time talking with each other about our experiences of how God directed us here; so many similarities that it is crazy. One family got here just six weeks ago and another last March (they are from two different churches but friends from South Carolina). Just before we ate the Russell’s mom came out to greet us She said she had been looking forward to this meeting
She’s in her 90’s and believes that God wants to do something big and that God brought her to Fairbanks (the hub) and positioned her here to pray.
The forcast says we may have snow as early as Wed. or Thursday. The weather really took a turn yesterday so we went to Fred Meyer and found snow pants and a hat and gloves for Anthony. He’s not feeling too well tonight and has a fever so I’m not sure if he’ll be going to school tomorrow.
Yes, Steve still wants to finish getting his pilot license. It’s so funny. He started years ago when the girls were little, worked on it again when we lived in Cameron Park and will finish here when we have the finances again.
I’m looking forward to getting started working but I really have been glad to have the time to settle in. Yes, we still have our same e-mail addresses and Anthony even has his own too: anthony@1cox.com. Our new PO Box is PO Box 81788 and our physical addres is: 1200 Vasi Wy

Love you too!
Thanks for posting, Denise – so great to be able to keep updated with you guys…I’ve been on the road a lot lately, but getting the updates 3rd hand – I’m praying for you!
PS – A, Sweet room, Pal!
Hi Kimmy, thanks for the comment and the prayers (so appreciated) and keeping up on us. Would love for you to come and see us.
Love, Denise
I’ll see what I can do to hitch a ride on the back of somebody’s motorcycle…..(can you ride motorcycles to the north pole?) haha
Much love to you all!
